I am always impressed with how delicious your fish dinners are. I will not even try fish anyplace else now. Over the past years I have broken down and tried to order fish but am always most disappointed. Nobody else comes even close to the perfection you always manage to achieve. Also have watched your organization going about the daily challenges and I am so impressed with the friendly, most efficient and pleasant staff. So many of them appear to be quite young and they should all be proud of how hard they work. You always have lots of staff and it is truly a pleasure to just sit back and watch the hustle and bustle that works so well for you. Congrats on an amazing job and top notch Eatery. Always definately worth the drive to Port Elgin.

at least once a year we camp @ mcgregor,so its a tradition that we go for dinner at lord elgin.i have the cod,not always found elsewhere,& my wife has the grilled halibut(she,s celiac.needs gluten free). not all fish & chip places offer grilled fish, so this is a treat for her. the cole slaw is great. nice friendly place.

I love to come here whenever I can. The halibut is easily the best I've ever tasted, and the experience is always a pleasant one. I live in Toronto but visit family up there when I can and love to go to Lord Elgin whenever possible. The best fish n' chips anywhere!

Perfect - fish, batter and fries, tea is great as well! Warm, friendly, efficient service, everything is cooked fresh to order. This is the best fish and chips in Canada that I have tasted. I cannot praise highly enough. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes fish and chips and anyone who wants a good meal at a good price. Well done.

I have so many good things to say. Every staff person, whether in the restaurant or on the phone, is genuinely pleasant and helpful. The fish and chips is beyond compare and is just as good when you take it home as when you eat in the restaurant. The coleslaw should win a medal. The place is immaculate. But my new favourite thing about The Lord Elgin is the wonderful letter on the pick up desk which explains EXACTLY why the all-you-can-eat haddock fish & chips has gone up in price by a paltry $2.00. When I read it, I felt like a valued customer - perhaps the owner/managers could run a business school on the side?! Thank you all for your continued dedication to old-fashioned notions of quality and service.

Some of best fish and chips in world can be found in St. John's, Halifax, Vancouver, San Francisco, and Sydney Australia. Lord Elgin clearly tops this list! I have tried all of those and stand by this statement. Keep up the great work!

Last July, my sister, from Orangeville, passed away in her 83rd year. Had you ever asked her what was her very favourite meal, she would say fish and chips. On her several visits to me in Southampton, I would take her to dinner at Lord Elgin Restaurant, and she always said that it was the best fish and chips she ever had. I had always said that too, not just because of the wonderful flavour of the food, but because the batter on the fish is lightly coated, and not gobbed on too thickly as it is in many restaurants. I wish my sister, Mary, could have still been with us to read that, just like our opinion of your restaurant, the same opinion had been publically shared by such a respected magazine as Canadian Living.
